Breakout Session: The new Colorado Model Low Energy and Carbon Code
Presenter: Elizabeth Gillmor
Date & Time: November 13 • 10:30–11:30 AM
Location: Red Cloud Peak Room
Colorado’s new Model Low Energy and Carbon Code is designed to reduce emissions from new construction and major renovations, while still allowing flexibility and cost-effective compliance. Beginning July 1, 2026, local jurisdictions will be required to adopt these standards when they update any portion of their building codes—meaning this change is on the horizon for architects, builders, and design professionals across the state.
In this session, you’ll gain insight into:
-
How the new Code was developed
-
How and when it will be implemented across Colorado
-
Key differences from the 2024 IECC
-
Practical impacts on design workflows and project planning
Make sure to stop by the breakout session in the Red Cloud Peak Room to get ahead of these changes and learn how to prepare your projects and clients.
