BUILDING ENERGY ANALYST II & III

Energetics is seeking Building Energy Analysts of various experience levels to join our staff.

SALARY RANGE:  $85,000 to $150,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Your duties and role will be dependent on your experience, but here is the type of person that will fit best with our team:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Eng., Architectural Eng., Electrical Eng. or related field of study.
  • Two (2) years related experience as a Building Performance Consultant, Building Performance Analyst or related occupation.
  • Experience is required and must include the following:
  • Utilizing OpenStudio and/or Energy Plus software to create models of buildings and their energysystems
  • Utilizing Ruby/Python to accelerate and automate creation of models for buildings and their energy systems
  • Utilizing industry standards, measures and terminology in work product for design and building professionals, building energy efficiency and conservation measures, including massing/orientation, envelope components, daylighting/lighting, HVAC/DHW, and renewable energy use
  • Utilizing and applying energy compliance standards in work product communicating with design and building professionals, according to applicable energy modeling protocols and green building certifications, such as LEED, IECC, ASHRAE, and EnergyStar.
  • This position is 100% remote.
  • Travel: 2% travel is required to project sites within the Denver metro area. In person team meetings take place in Denver, CO

SKILLS & DUTIES

  • Creates models of buildings and associated energy systems using OpenStudio/EnergyPlus and other software tools with greater autonomy over results.
  • Responsible for limited project management, staff training, and collaboration with team members.
  • Creates or edits measures to accelerate and automate model creation  using Ruby/Python.
  • Analyzes building energy efficiency and conservation measures such as massing/orientation, envelope components, daylighting/lighting,
    HVAC/DHW, and renewable energy for review by supervisor.
  • Prepares drafts of energy analysis reports for project teams, building department officials, financial entities, and utility rebate programs
    for review by supervisor prior to submission to clients.
  • Consults directly with design teams on sustainable building practices with respect to envelope, lighting, HVAC controls, and renewable
    energy.
  • Reviews and comments on construction drawings and specifications including HVAC, DHW, and envelope.
  • Guides and documents energy compliance and savings for green building
    certifications such as LEED, NGBS, and EnergyStar. Manages assigned projects and communicates with other project team members.
  • Performs Internal Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of models, results, and deliverables, including in a mentorship role to newer team members.
  • Participates in site inspections and testing. Attends team meetings virtually and in person.
