Envelope Verification and Commissioning

Our envelope services are available to help projects achieve energy efficiency goals by looking at the exterior floor, walls, & roof of a structure, and ensuring air barrier continuity and air leakage reduction.  Our work starts in the design phase, evaluating air sealing details and assemblies, and culminates with inspections and testing during construction.   This work can also contribute to green building certification services such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, and Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH) certification.

Pre-Design/Design Phase:

We look through and advise on the air barrier design in a project. Making sure it meets code & above code standards to achieve the goals that align with the project. We also work through the permitting process when air barrier reports or letters are required to be obtained for permit.

Construction/Project Closeout:

From providing trades training, rough inspections, and testing, we help through to project closeout. Envelope testing includes whole building blower door testing and unitary blower door testing (by individual dwelling unit).
