Energetics is a boutique energy, sustainability, and daylighting consulting firm founded in 2015 with the guiding principal that all buildings can be made more energy efficient and more sustainable, without having to spend more money. We help teams optimize their buildings and designs to get the best buildings within their budget, and we leverage every possible financial benefit to help pay for it.
Our mission is to provide pragmatic, cost-effective, and resilient energy solutions for building designers and owners. We make the more sustainable building also be the more affordable building.
What makes us different
Your goals are our goals. No matter if your project needs to be net-zero energy or just needs to meet the energy code, we will help you get there.
We love solving problems. Our in-depth knowledge of building science, construction, architecture/engineering, and building codes is key in finding creative solutions to design challenges.
We know our industry. Here in Colorado, we are deeply invested in our local sustainable building industry, and have helped shape policy for code adoption, city/state goals, and utility incentive protocols. We are actively involved on the Denver Building Code Amendment committee, Denver Green Buildings Ordinance Technical Advisory Committee, the Colorado Code Collaborative, and the Denver Net Zero Energy Advisory Group. Our involvement and influence with these groups helps to align Colorado’s sustainability goals with the needs of our clients and design teams, and gives us unique perspective in market trends that we can share with our teams.
We are fast and skinny. Energetics was founded on Lean business practices, and we continuously strive to streamline our analyses, keep overhead costs low, and add more value for our clients. This means we can turn around results more quickly and at a lower cost than you might expect.
What’s in a name?
The word “energetics” refers to the study of the flow and transformation of energy, or “energy economics”. We like to think about buildings that way too – how they use energy, and how they energize the people within them.
Speaking of economics — we understand that money matters. We are an experienced provider of Xcel Energy’s “Energy Design Assistance” (EDA) program and the Fort Collins Utility “Integrated Design Assistance Program” (IDAP), and have helped our clients obtain millions of dollars in energy efficiency utility rebates. We also provide energy efficiency documentation and consulting required to achieve energy code compliance, LIHTC tax credit financing, HUD/FHA 221(d)(4) financing, 179d tax deductions, C-PACE financing, BEST grants, and green certifications such as LEED, CHPS, NGBS, Living Building Challenge, Enterprise Green Communities, Energy Star, and Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH).
