Westwood Crossing is a 98-unit affordable housing project along Alameda Avenue in Denver, Colorado developed by McDermott Properties. It includes resident amenities such as a fitness area, community kitchen, and playground, as well as 5000 square feet of office/retail for local non-profits on the first floor. The apartments range in size from one to three bedrooms, with the larger units helping to provide affordability for families with children.
At the groundbreaking, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock had this to say: “Through projects like Westwood Crossing, the city is ensuring that hard-working families, no matter their income level, can call Denver home. We’re proud to dedicate local funds to help make these new units possible. With more access to housing, healthy foods and education, we are seeing great momentum in Westwood with new services and resources coming in to help the residents and businesses live high quality lives. We commit to continue this progress to help build healthy communities and livable neighborhoods.”
Energetics guided the project through Xcel’s Energy Design Assistance (EDA) Program, and provided Enterprise Green Communities consulting services to help the project receive Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financing through the Colorado Housing Finance Authority (CHFA).
